Event Play & Scoring

Day 1: 2-Man Best Ball (Match Play)

  • Match Handicap: 90% of each player’s Men’s Club Handicap
(Recommendation of the World Handicap System)
  • Each player plays their own ball on every hole
  • Record gross (actual) score on the scorecard
  • Team score on each hole = best net score of the two partners

Net score per hole:

  • Apply handicap strokes to the gross score:
    • Subtract 1 stroke on holes where a stroke is received
    • Subtract 2 strokes where applicable
    • If no stroke is received, net = gross

Winning the hole:

  • The team with the lowest net score wins the hole

Points (Day 1):

  • Front 9: 1 point
  • Back 9: 1 point
  • Overall (18): 1 point
  • Ties earn ½ point each

Day 2: Individual Match Play

  • Match Handicap: 100% of your Men’s Club Handicap
  • Each player plays their own ball on every hole
  • Record gross (actual) score on the scorecard

Net score per hole:

  • Apply handicap strokes the same way as Day 1:
    • Subtract 1 stroke where earned
    • Subtract 2 strokes where applicable
    • Otherwise net = gross

Winning the hole:

  • The player with the lowest net score wins the hole

Points (Day 2):

  • Front 9: 1 point
  • Back 9: 1 point
  • Overall (18): 1 point
  • Ties earn ½ point each

Winning Team

The team (Red or Blue) with the most total points after both days is the event winner.
